John B. Rottenborn

Ben Rottenborn teaches Pretrial Litigation at Virginia Law. He is a partner with Woods Rogers in Roanoke, Va., where he practices commercial litigation. Before joining Woods Rogers in 2012, Rottenborn was a partner in the Litigation Group at Kirkland & Ellis in Chicago. Rottenborn has represented businesses in a variety of complex civil litigation matters involving issues in private equity/venture capital, securities, fiduciary duty, the environment, products liability and general commercial law. He has practiced extensively at both the trial and appellate levels in federal and state courts around the country.

Rottenborn graduated with highest distinction from the University of Virginia and earned his law degree at Stanford Law School, where he served as president of the Stanford Law & Policy Review and vice-president of the Kirkwood Moot Court Board. After graduating from Stanford, Rottenborn served as a judicial clerk for Arizona U.S. District Judge David G. Campbell.
