Judith Williams Jagdmann

Judith Williams Jagdmann co-teaches Energy Regulation and Policy at the Law School. She has been a member of the State Corporation Commission of Virginia, which regulates the public utility, insurance and financial industries in Virginia, since 2006.
In January 2005, the Virginia General Assembly unanimously elected Jagdmann as the 43rd attorney general for the Commonwealth of Virginia. From 1998-2005 she was the deputy attorney for civil litigation, which included, among other areas, utility, insurance and antitrust matters for the commonwealth of Virginia.
Jagdmann serves in leadership positions in the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (board and electricity committee) and the Mid-Atlantic Conference of Regulatory Utilities Commissioners (first vice-president).
She has lectured and presented on utility matters at UVA Law, the Governor’s (Virginia) Energy Forum and at various conferences.
Jagdmann is a graduate of the T.C. Williams School of Law at the University of Richmond and is a 1981 graduate (with distinction) of the University of Virginia.
