Caroline Stanton

Carrie Stanton is a partner at Williams Mullen, and teaches Complex Commercial Contract Negotiations at the Law School. She represents businesses in major corporate transactions, including mergers and acquisitions and capital raising, as well as complex commercial contracts and regulatory compliance. She represents clients from a broad range of industries, including insurance, retail, manufacturing, technology, transportation, health care, engineering, startups and venture capitalists at various stages of a transaction. Stanton regularly advises in-house legal departments and members of the C-suite on all aspects of commercial contract negotiations.
In the community, Stanton is a member of the executive board of directors for the United Way of Greater Charlottesville and was a member of Leadership Charlottesville's 2014 class. She earned her J.D. in 2011, and her B.A. in 2007, from the University of Virginia. She has been named to Virginia Lawyers Weekly's class of “Up & Coming Lawyers” (2019), and she is listed in The Best Lawyers in America (2021) and Virginia Super Lawyers Rising Stars (2013-present) for Business and Corporate Law. Stanton is a member of the American Bar Association law practice division's attorney well-being committee.
