Mike Lincoln is vice chairman of Cooley LLP and the former chair of the firm’s former business department. As vice chairman, Lincoln helps direct lateral recruiting, new offices and overall firm strategy. His practice has represented leading venture capital firms, angel investors, family offices, and other technology and emerging growth companies. Lincoln has a special focus on certain sectors including FinTech, EdTech, B2B software, consumer products, FoodTech, cyber security and digital health.
A graduate of Southeast Missouri State University and the University of Virginia School of Law, Lincoln was on the managing board of the Virginia Law Review and a member of the Raven Society and Omicron Delta Kappa. He clerked from 1991-92 for Judge Joel Flaum, Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals, Chicago. Before joining Cooley, he also worked as a partner with Hunton & Williams and an associate with Latham & Watkins.
