Marit R. Slaughter

Prior to joining the Office of Career Services, Marit Slaughter was an associate in the New York office of Willkie Farr & Gallagher for nearly six years. At Willkie, Slaughter was in the Corporate and Financial Services Department, where she focused on private equity/venture capital transactions, mergers and acquisitions and general corporate and securities matters. During her tenure at Willkie, Slaughter served as a member of the firm’s Professional Personnel/Legal Recruiting, Professional Development and Marketing committees.
Slaughter received both a B.A. in government and a J.D. from the University of Virginia. As an undergrad, Slaughter was the president of the Women’s Club Lacrosse Team. During her time at the law school, she was a member of the editorial board of the Journal of Law & Politics, First Year Council and Virginia Law Women.
