Scenes from UVA Law's Interview Season
A wave of employers and students took over the University of Virginia School of Law last week as part of On-Grounds Interview season, which started Aug. 8 and ends today.
Each fall, hundreds of employers from across the nation come to the school to conduct more than 5,500 interviews of second-year and third-year law students. The process involves so many people and interviews that classrooms, moot courtrooms and some faculty offices are used for meeting spaces, in addition to dedicated interview rooms. Many students are interviewed by alumni who are serving as recruiters for their law firms or other employers. Students who choose to max out their number of interview “bids” typically participate in 20 or more interviews each.
The Office of Career Services also ran an On Tour Interview Program this summer, through which students interviewed in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, Dallas, Chicago and Miami.
