Danica Roem, the first openly transgender elected state lawmaker in the United States, encouraged audience members to find their voice and run for office, and spoke about her experiences as an elected official working to address local issues. The talk capped the Ele(Q)t Project for LGBTQ Leadership symposium, which focused on motivating and training young LGBTQ leaders to run for political office.
