Regulating Conflict and Competition: The Economic Levers of National Security
The United States relies heavily on economic measures to manage international conflict and competition. From sanctions on Russia over the invasion of Ukraine to restrictions on investment in China and controls over cross-border technology flows, regulations aimed at protecting national security are in the forefront as the United States winds down long-standing military operations around the world. The conference convenes legal and policy experts to discuss the latest developments in and future trajectories of the economic levers of national security. Neil H. MacBride ’92, general counsel of the U.S. Department of the Treasury, will deliver the keynote address. There is no cost to attend this conference, but registration is required. Parking will be available in the D2 and D3 lots adjacent to the Law School.
