Barbara Ann Williams, former bar counsel for the Virginia State Bar, Evan Mayo, a volunteer attorney with Lawyers Helping Lawyers, Assistant Dean Sarah Davies and Assistant Dean Jason Dugas will talk about the incidence of depression, anxiety, stress, mental health conditions and substance abuse among law students and lawyers. They will clarify misconceptions about the character and fitness portion of the Bar application, share resources available at the law school and beyond, and offer advice about how to support friends and family dealing with mental illness and substance abuse.
