“62 Days” Film Screening, Dinner and Discussion
Professors Anne Coughlin and Michele Goodwin will lead a discussion with “62 Days” director Rebecca Haimowitz. The film follows what happens when a Texas law prevents a brain-dead woman who is 14 weeks pregnant from being removed from life support. The Muñoz family was forced to keep Marlise Muñoz on mechanical support against their will for 62 days because of a little-known law that states “a person may not withdraw or withhold life-sustaining treatment … from a pregnant patient.” Food will be provided.
