Advanced Legal Research
These days it’s easy to find information, but it’s not so easy to know that you’re finding the right information and not missing anything. The goal of this course is to develop more effective and focused research skills that will give you confidence that you have the information you need. In classroom exercises and homework assignments, we will learn advanced techniques for using familiar resources such as Google and Westlaw Next, and explore more specialized free and subscription resources in subject areas frequently encountered in legal practice, including case law, statutes, legislative history, administrative law, court procedure, and factual research.
*Yes means professor requires everyone in the course to submit a substantial research paper (which is the requirement standard in Academic Policies), so no paperwork required to be submitted to SRO.
