Schedule Information

Enrollment: 12/12
Credits: 0

Course Description

This is the first semester of a yearlong seminar designed to enhance students' understanding of ethical issues and address the broader ethical and moral responsibilities of the lawyer as citizen and leader.  This SEV will focus on the connections among lawyers, law, and film.  We will explore the ways in which films depict lawyers and the legal system, the uses of film to influence legal outcomes, the uses of film in legal proceedings, and, even, the notion that film could itself be a form of law.    Most, if not all, of our texts will be films.  The sessions will take place at the instructor’s home, and we’ll aim to hold all sessions on Sunday evenings.  The schedule for the year will be fixed in the early fall, shortly before classes begin.
