Seminar in Ethical Values (YR)
Section 3, Fall 18
Schedule Information
Enrollment: 8/12
Credits: 0
Course Description
This seminar will explore the way lawyers and legal problems are depicted in popular culture and media. More specifically, we will use films, novels, short stories, TV shows, and periodical articles to explore whether depictions of lawyers, lawyering, judges, and judging are based on a clear understanding of the nature of law practice and the legal system. Are characterizations made in popular media and culture fair or unfair to the participants in the legal system and, if not, does it matter? To enliven the discussion and bonhomie, Amanda Yale, Director of Public Service, will co-host.
The class sessions will generally meet on Sunday evenings.
