Course Description

This elective will focus on developing the practical skills necessary to provide legal support to a contracting officer from contract requirement through contract close-out. Students will become familiar with a variety of contracts, ranging from basic services contracts to prototype agreements, through the hands-on review of acquisition planning documents, solicitations, performance work statements, determination and findings, and contract clauses. Professor-led workshops and guest lecturers will build the students foundation in reviewing and ultimately drafting contract terms.

Course Notes: Successful completion will be based on in-class participation and two practical exercises. This course meets at the JAG School during the 2nd Quarter, October 15th - December 6th, 2018. ATTENDANCE: Enrolled students who do not attend the first class session will be processed in accordance with the Academic Policies. Students seeking to enroll in this course must complete and timely submit a request form to the Student Records Office. The instructors for this course are Maj Bowne, ADK Faculty, and Guest Speakers.
