Course Description

A joint offering with the program in Medical Humanities, this Seminar in Ethical Values examines memory in both professional and personal life. Law, medicine and other professions, like individuals, have complex relationships with time and tradition, and what and how we remember (or forget) shapes the present and the future. Readings will include Sophocles' play Antigone as well as works by Virginia Woolf and Jorge Luis Borges.
