Section 1SP, Spring 21

Schedule Information

Enrollment: 52/53
Credits: 3

Course Description

This class will be about class actions and other forms of aggregate litigation. There will be some theory and some history, but most of the focus will be on the class certification issues under FRCP 23 that, as a practical matter, currently dominate much of the practice of complex civil litigation—particularly as practiced in big law firms. These issues arise frequently in practice across many areas of the law, including securities, antitrust, products liability, mass torts, and civil rights litigation.
