"I joined UVA Law with the hope of deepening my insights into business law. My hope was fulfilled beyond my expectations. The courses related to corporate law and securities regulation were not only academically sophisticated but also thought-provoking from a practical perspective. The lineup of potential courses was extensive, and I had plenty of opportunities to hear from many practitioners about their experiences with actual transactions and cases.
"UVA Law’s classes are smaller than those at other top law schools, and, except for a specialized writing course, LL.M. students attend the same courses as J.D.s. Students raise sharp questions to the professors during classes and lively discussions take place. The professors welcome all questions and will address them until no more students are raising their hands. Professors are also happy to make time for discussion with students during and after the classes. The relatively small class size enables this valuable environment for student growth. I am greatly appreciative of the professors who have always treated the students with kindness and respect.
"UVA Law and UVA’s support for LL.M. students is outstanding: Graduate Studies, Student Records, Student Affairs, Law IT and many other teams take amazingly good care of LL.M. students, allowing them to focus on their studies. This is a great advantage for LL.M. students living in an unfamiliar environment abroad.
"Living in beautiful and safe Charlottesville was a blessing for my family. The breathtakingly beautiful view of Charlottesville from Carter Mountain Orchard, enjoying picnics at the many wineries around town, running around with my 1-year-old son on the beautiful lawns in front of the Law School and in front of the Rotunda on the Central Ground — I was able to make many precious memories."
