Despite the fact that 'exact' replications are impossible to perform, it is important for a science to make close attempts and to systematically collect such attempts. It is also important, however, not to treat data as only relevant to the hypothesis being tested. Good data should be respected; they can tell us about things we have not yet thought. Plans for publishing systematic attempts at replication (regardless of outcome) are being developed. Copyright (C) 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
