Top Terrorism Experts at Symposium

On February 25 and 26 the John Bassett Moore Society played host to 19 speakers, 6 moderators, and more than 150 audience members as part of its 2005 Symposium, “Beyond the U.S. War on Terrorism: Comparing Domestic Legal Remedies to an International Dilemma.” The event, co-sponsored by the Strategic Studies Institute at the U.S. Army War College, drew an audience of students and professors from other universities, U.S. government representatives, and members of the armed forces. The symposium included presentations from Director of the Center for National Security Studies Kate Martin ’77 and Director General of the Foreign Service and Director of Human Resources for the U.S. Department of State Ambassador W. Robert Pearson ’68. Paul Pillar, National Intelligence Officer for the Near East and South Asia, delivered the keynote speech. For a recounting of the panels and video of the keynote, see Terrorism Has Political, Historical Roots, Pillar Says and Europe Has Tested Security Waters Before, Panel Says.
