About the Office
The Office of Student Affairs offers individual counseling, administers policies regarding personal challenges students may encounter, works closely with student organizations and academic journal personnel, coordinates extracurricular activities, administers disability accommodations, and fosters interaction between students and faculty in a variety of settings. A wide range of support services is available to all law students as quality of life issues are addressed.

Sarah E. Davies
Assistant Dean for Student Affairs
Sarah Davies oversees referrals and resources for disability accommodations, and offers academic support counseling and advising. She is the primary contact for law student emergencies/illnesses and personal support, manages the medical leave of absence process for students, and is a resource for Law School policies and procedures. Additionally, she contributes to the planning and implementation of commencement, orientation and student leadership development programs. Bio | Contact

Megan Durkee
Director of Student Affairs
Megan Durkee offers academic support counseling and advising, is a contact for student emergencies/illnesses and other personal support, and is the primary contact for Community Fellows. She is a resource for Law School policies and procedures, and oversees and manages awards. She also contributes to the planning and implementation of commencement, orientation and student leadership development programs. Contact
Lisa A. Napier
Faculty Assistant
Lisa Napier is responsible for advising students on general questions and providing student support. She contributes to the planning and implementation of Student Affairs events, commencement and orientation. She is also a licensed EMT. Contact
Savannah Ourednik
Student Affairs Coordinator
Savannah Ourednik is the primary contact for student organizations and academic journals. She assists with funding, reimbursements, event planning and leadership transitions. She is also responsible for Student Affairs events, wellness programming and student leadership development programs, and assists with commencement and orientation. Contact
Kate Gibson
CAPS Psychologist
Dr. Kate Gibson, a psychologist with UVA’s Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS), is located at the School of Law and focuses exclusively on the mental health needs of law students. Her office in SL135C is accessible through the waiting room at SL135D. Dr. Gibson has been at CAPS for nine years and is a licensed psychologist. Contact
