Course Description

In this ethical values seminar we will explore the “fake it till you make it” culture that many startups in Silicon Valley and elsewhere have embraced. In particular, we will discuss the founders (the real people and personalities) whose leadership have led to scandals and indictments. Using a mix of news articles, videos, and court documents we will have conversations about pitfalls, lessons learned, and ethical challenges faced by lawyers in these situations. Students will have the opportunity to select and discuss the founders that are of most interest to them.
