Information Introduction

LAW9089
Section 7, Fall 23

Schedule Information

Enrollment: 6/11
Credits: 0

Course Description

This is the first half of a yearlong seminar. We will focus on what we can learn about how to live from short works of literature. Last year, we read Thornton Wilder's "The Bridge of San Luis Rey," Edwin Abbott’s "Flatland," Sandra Cisneros's "The House on Mango Street," Truman Capote's "Breakfast at Tiffany's," and Chinua Achebe's "Things Fall Apart." Our first two books this coming year will be "Things Fall Apart" by Chinua Achebe and "Flatland" by Edwin Abbott. Once we have gotten to know each other a bit, we will choose the remaining three books by consensus from an extensive list of possibilities supplemented with student suggestions.
