Gavel and Creed: Role of Religion in the Judiciary

Monday, March 25, 2024 12:00 - Monday, March 25, 2024 13:00

This roundtable conversation aims to explore the dynamics between personal faith and the law. Dialogue on religion and government, and the desire for religious freedom, in the United States is older than the country itself. While religious affiliation in the U.S. has declined overall, religious coalitions continue to exert significant political and legal influence. Organizers hope the conversation will extend beyond individual cases and explore the wider theoretical ramifications of religious views intersecting with legal principles — and their impact, or lack thereof, on the shaping of law.
