Matt Wakeman
Assistant Dean for Financial Aid, Education and Planning
Matt Wakeman is assistant dean for financial aid, education and planning for the Law School. Prior to joining UVA, Wakeman worked at Rice University, where he served as director of student financial services for the Jones Graduate School of Business. In that role, he oversaw all aspects of the school’s administration of financial aid, including federal Title IV funding, private student loans, veterans’ benefits, third-party payments and scholarships.
Wakeman began his career in higher education in 2003 and has worked as the director of financial aid for the New School of Architecture + Design, Southwestern Law School, and as corporate director of financial aid for Concorde Career Colleges Inc.
