Scholarships

Scholarships are provided through the generosity of alumni and friends of the School of Law and from general funds allocated by the Law School and the University. Scholarships are awarded to entering students and are automatically renewed for the second and third year of law school enrollment. The renewal of scholarships awarded to law students enrolled in dual-degree programs are subject to review in accordance with policies governing tuition and fee payments to other University divisions. Students enrolling in a dual-degree program are encouraged to contact the Office of Financial Aid for additional scholarship information.

Merit Scholarships

A number of merit-only scholarships are awarded to entering students each year. The values of merit scholarships go up to full tuition plus a living stipend of $20,000. All admitted applicants will be considered for merit-based scholarships, and no separate application is required.

Need-Based Scholarships

Most scholarship assistance at the Law School is awarded on a combined basis of academic merit and need. All admitted applicants who wish to be considered for scholarships in which demonstrated need is a component must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the University Financial Aid Application (UFAA).

Beginning with the Class of 2013, entering students who are unmarried and 26 or younger when they enroll in the Law School are required to provide parental financial aid information on both the FAFSA and the UFAA to be considered for scholarship assistance with a need factor. This requirement, however, may be waived in cases of extreme hardship. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid for additional waiver information.
