Members of the General Public Seeking Legal Assistance
If you are an individual in need of legal assistance, please do NOT contact the Law School’s Pro Bono Program.
The University of Virginia School of Law is unable to provide legal services to members of the general public. Law students may not offer legal advice unless they are working under the direct supervision of a licensed attorney. The Pro Bono Program does not have supervising attorneys on staff.
To access pro bono legal assistance, please contact the Virginia State Bar’s Virginia Lawyer Referral Service at (800) 552-7977 or visit the ABA Directory of Virginia Legal Service Providers or VaLegalAid.org.
