Maisie B. Osteen

Maisie Osteen joined the Civil Rights and Racial Justice Program at Legal Aid Justice Center in October 2020. Prior to LAJC, she was a supervising attorney and director of interns at the Richland County Public Defender’s Office in Columbia, South Carolina.

Osteen earned her BBA from Hofstra University and her law degree from Washington & Lee University School of Law, where she received the Calhoun Bond University Service Award and the National Association of Women Lawyers Award. Osteen is a 2014 graduate of the Gideon’s Promise Core 101, and she still serves the program as a junior faculty member. She is licensed in South Carolina and has a pending bar application in Washington, D.C. Osteen co-teaches the Civil Rights Clinic at the Law School.
