Bruce R. Williamson Jr. has been a trial lawyer in Virginia since 1979. He has limited his practice to criminal defense since the mid-1990s and is currently of counsel with Lepold & Martin in Charlottesville.

Williamson is from Queens, New York, and graduated from Regis High School in Manhattan. He earned his B.A. from New York University in 1974 and his J.D. from UVA Law in 1978.

He served as a substitute judge in the 16th Judicial District from 1988-2000. Williamson is a past president of the Charlottesville-Albemarle Criminal Bar Association,  the Charlottesville Area Criminal Bar Association and the Virginia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. Williamson previously served as a clinical supervisor and director of the Criminal Defense Clinic. He also taught Trial Advocacy for many years.

Williamson co-teaches the seminar portion of the Criminal Defense Clinic with Bonnie J. Lepold in the fall semester.
