DONALD TRUMP has tweeted, "Global warming is an expensive hoax!" — essentially denying the merits of even discussing climate policy. But Republicans can still share in the development of climate solutions — if environmental groups are prepared to seize the political opportunity.
As someone who spent more than a decade working on environmental advocacy in the South, I witnessed the growing political polarization on this issue. Trump's stance on global warming represents a dramatic reversal of where the Republican Party stood just eight short years ago.
