Anastasia Iliopoulou is a professor of public law at the University Paris Panthéon-Assas. She is a member of the Center for European Law and of the DIGISOV project (Digital Governance and Sovereignty in a Fractured World).

Iliopoulou holds a Master 2 degree and a Ph.D. in law from the University Paris Panthéon-Assas and a law degree from the University of Athens. She has been an academic visitor at the University of Oxford (Institute of European and Comparative Law) and a postdoctoral researcher at Sciences Po Paris (Centre for European Studies and chair for Transformations in Public Action and Law).

In the fall of 2023, she served as a global visiting professor of law at Notre Dame Law School. Her teaching experience also includes courses and seminars at Sciences Po Paris, the French National School for the Judiciary, Humboldt University of Berlin, King’s College London, the University of Athens, La Sapienza University of Rome, the Autonomous University of Madrid, ESADE Ramon Llull University in Barcelona and Sorbonne University Abu Dhabi.

Iliopoulou has published extensively on European citizenship, the internal market and the protection of liberal values and fundamental rights within the EU. Her current research focuses on these issues in the context of digitalization and explores how EU regulation in the digital sector and the case law of the Court of Justice of the European Union are progressively shaping a European digital citizenship and a European digital constitution. Her scholarship has been cited by French courts and the Court of Justice of the European Union.
