‘Making the Presidency: John Adams’
In her new book, “Making the Presidency: John Adams and the Precedents that Forged the Republic,” Lindsay Chervinsky explores how John Adams defended essential political norms, including the peaceful transfer of power. Chervinsky joins Professor Saikrishna Prakash, a Miller Center Faculty Senior Fellow, to discuss how the Constitution and the presidency were shaped by the demands of the times and how both continue to evolve.
