Clare Lewis

As a partner for McGuireWoods, Clare Lewis represents venture capital and private equity fund investors, as well as emerging growth and middle market companies generally and in connection with mergers and acquisitions, equity financings, corporate governance, intellectual property, executive compensation and tax matters. She also works with clients to obtain and grow government contracts, ensure compliance with the Code of Federal Regulations and other agency-specific regulations, and navigate the government contracting process generally. Prior to joining McGuireWoods, she was an associate in technology investment banking at Wells Fargo Securities and holds FINRA Investment Banking Series 79 and 63 Licenses.
She served as judicial intern to Judge Shira Scheindlin of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
While attending law school, Lewis served as treasurer of the JD/MBA Society. She was a member of the Darden Capital Management Club and the Finance Club while earning her MBA. At the University of Virginia, she was awarded First Place Maas Prize from the French Department.
