Anuraag Routray ’29, who hails from Katy, Texas, majored in government at the University of Texas at Austin before law school.
“I’m excited to join a school with such a strong sense of community, whether it’s on the softball field or in the library. The UVA Law family is what first drew me here, and I’m eager to build lasting friendships while learning alongside people who genuinely support one another.”
A Posse Scholar who attended The University of the South, Daphne Nwobike ’29 hails from Hyattsville, Maryland.
“I was drawn to UVA’s unwavering commitment to fostering genuine and meaningful relationships across the student body,” she said. “From the plethora of opportunities to learn from incredible and renowned professors to the immense support for public service and pro bono initiatives, UVA's abundance of resources that foster competent and compassionate lawyers made it an easy choice.”
Wakefield, Rhode Island, native Brett Dunham ’29 was a surface rescue swimmer in the Navy and attended the University of California at Berkeley before law school.
“I chose UVA Law School for its career services and close proximity to Washington, D.C.,” he said. “In terms of structured pathways into impactful legal work, UVA was incomparable in its offerings.”
Among the J.D. students starting at the Law School in the fall of 2026 are 37 who are returning to the University for a second UVA degree — meet six 1Ls on track to become Double Hoos.
