Corey Parker
Corey Parker is a staff attorney with the Innocence Project at UVA Law School. Parker previously worked as an attorney for the Colorado State Public Defender, in the Denver Trial Office. As a public defender, Parker handled felony cases at all stages, from preliminary hearing to post-conviction review; litigated complex legal issues, including constitutional challenges, competency, and restorability and scientific evidence; and mentored new attorneys on case management, trial preparation and trial execution.
Parker earned her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she was a Law and Public Service Fellow, a Legal Research and Writing Fellow, and a participant in the Innocence Project Clinic. Before enrolling in law school, Parker held managerial roles in business development and sales at Caterpillar Inc., where she worked for over 10 years. She earned both her MBA and her B.S. in chemistry, summa cum laude, from Illinois State University.
