Celia Bigoness
Celia Bigoness joined the law faculty in 2026. She teaches courses in contract drafting, corporate law and transactional legal skills. She is also the director of the John W. Glynn Jr. Law & Business Program.
Before joining the Law School, Bigoness taught for over a decade at Cornell Law School. She founded the school’s first transactional law clinic, providing legal services to entrepreneurs and small businesses. Bigoness also founded and directed the Blassberg-Rice Center for Entrepreneurship Law, which allowed her to expand her clinic’s activities to the Cornell Tech campus in New York City. In addition to her clinical work, Bigoness directed the annual Cornell Law School Transactional Lawyering Competition and taught multiple courses in Cornell’s online master’s degree in legal studies program.
Bigoness practiced corporate law at Sullivan & Cromwell in New York, London and Paris. Before attending law school, she was an editor at the foreign policy journal Foreign Affairs.
Bigoness is a graduate of Harvard University and Yale Law School, where she served as editor-in-chief of the Yale Journal of International Law.
